Thanasis Akalestos is a senior executive specializing in strategic planning, health policy and the development of innovative solutions in the field of medical technology and diagnostic products. As Executive Director of SEIV, he institutionally represents the sector in dialogue with the State, regulatory authorities and European organizations, contributing to the shaping of frameworks for innovation, reimbursement, procurement and digital health.

Prior to assuming his role at SEIV, he held senior positions at Roche Diagnostics Hellas, where he founded and led the Medical Scientific Affairs & Healthcare Development function, implementing national health campaigns, reimbursement pathways, digital health solutions and screening programs in areas such as oncology, infectious diseases and prenatal screening.

He is a graduate of Biology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds an MA in Strategic Communication and Public Relations from Deree - The American College of Greece.
