40 Years of Institutional Presence
SEIV at a glance
The Association of Health-Research and Biotechnology Industry (SEIV) represents the official institutional voice of medical technology companies operating in the field of medical devices and in vitro diagnostic products in Greece, maintaining a continuous and active presence in the healthcare technology sector for more than four decades.
Founded in 1986, SEIV was established by approximately 30 companies from the medical technology and diagnostics industry, with the objective of strengthening collective representation and addressing common challenges within the Greek healthcare market.
Over the years, the Association has evolved into a key institutional organization for the medical technology industry in Greece, steadily expanding its membership and bringing together major Greek and multinational companies as well as dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises that make a significant contribution to healthcare innovation and medical technology development.
Today, with 177 member companies covering almost the entire medical technology value chain and representing approximately two-thirds of the Greek market, SEIV serves as the official and trusted industry partner of the State and public institutions, collaborating with the Ministries of Health, Development and Finance, the National Organization for Medicines (EOF), universities and research institutions, as well as international organizations.
With a strong focus on the future of healthcare, the Association continues—after 40 years—to support a modern, reliable and sustainable healthcare ecosystem, placing the patient, innovation and long-term public value at the center of its mission.
As an active member of MedTech Europe, SEIV plays an important role in shaping European and national healthcare policies that strengthen medical technology innovation, ensure patient access to advanced medical technologies and promote the long-term sustainability of healthcare systems across Europe.
