Diabetes
The SEIV Diabetes Sector was established with the aim of strengthening the Association’s contribution to shaping healthcare policy for diabetes mellitus in Greece.
Diabetes is one of the most significant chronic public health conditions, affecting over 10% of the country’s population, while a substantial percentage of cases remain undiagnosed. Effective disease management is directly linked to early diagnosis, access to modern technologies, and the development of comprehensive prevention policies.
The Sector focuses on priorities such as:
- improving access for people with diabetes to modern disease monitoring technologies
- establishing a stable reimbursement framework for diabetes medical devices
- developing sustainable funding mechanisms
- integrating prevention into national public health policies
- leveraging digital solutions and telemedicine
The Sector also seeks close collaboration with scientific societies, patient organizations, and institutional stakeholders, aiming to develop evidence-based policy proposals.
