Clinical Trials

The SEIV Clinical Trials Working Group was established with the aim of strengthening clinical research in the field of medical devices and in vitro diagnostic products in Greece.

Clinical trials are a critical factor for:

• documenting the safety and effectiveness of technologies
• patient access to innovative therapies
• the advancement of scientific knowledge and research

The new Ministerial Decision on Clinical Trials (Government Gazette 230B/22.01.2026) introduces a more functional and predictable framework for conducting clinical studies, enhancing transparency and efficiency in procedures.

The Working Group aims to:

• strengthen Greece’s attractiveness as a destination for clinical research
• support the implementation of the new institutional framework
• develop collaborations between industry, research centers, and hospitals
• facilitate the exchange of experiences and best practices

In this way, SEIV contributes to the development of a dynamic and competitive clinical research ecosystem in the country.
